With most major comic cons seemingly on indefinite hiatus, I’m happy (though not surprised) to see many artists, writers, and creators coming together to hold ‘pseudo-cons’ [yea I made that phrase up], mail-in signings, and various other methods of interacting with their respective fan bases throughout the course of this pandemic.
These events have provided us with a little bit of ‘normal’ in these often troubling times. A short break from the doom and gloom, if you will. So, in the spirit of distracting myself with comics and, hopefully, informing others of an upcoming CBCS Mail-In Signing Event. Here is a quick rundown of the event, as well as some my books I may send in.
Step 1: Pick Your Book(s)
Simple enough, right? Pick out the books you want to get signed. As far as what you “should” get signed, that’s all subjective. Is it for your personal collection, or for selling? How rare is it? How old is it? What condition is it in? The factors go on and on. They also vary depending on your interest or target market. Personally, I don’t spend money on books I wouldn’t be ok with being stuck with for a lifetime. Yes, these purchases are usually harder to part with, if you sell; however, I seldom regret a purchase.
My Picks...
Now that the formal stuff is done, it’s time for the fun part! The part most collectors love…showing off their collections.
I’m personally only sending in books for the Italian phenom herself, Mirka, to sign. So, here are some of my choices to be put under the pen, from my own collection.
Mirka Andolfo's: Unnatural
Mirka Andolfo's: Unsacred
Mirka Andolfo's: Mercy
Hex Wives
Harley Quinn
Deadpool
Money Shot
Seeing as the due date for all submissions is July 24th, 2020, I will, probably, end up changing some of the choices around as I dig through more stuff. So, to wrap this up, I’ll share the final submissions and grades once they’re back.
Until then, collect what you like, share what you can, and never stop reading.
